Emmanuel Ugwu holds a Master’s in Mass Communication from Nasarawa State University Keffi, as well as an MSc in Plant Breeding and Genetics and a Bachelor’s degree in Crop Science from the University of Nigeria. His research interest focuses on the intersection of land-use conflict and biodiversity stewardship.
His doctoral project is titled ‘Prioritisation of Sites through Shared Social, Cultural and Conservation Values.’ The overarching objective of his thesis is to explore pathways to mainstream social and cultural values into private land conservation. The research aims to enhance our understanding of the efficiency of voluntary conservation programs in improving landscape connectivity and opportunities for access to terrestrial nature.
