Dr Hannah Carle

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Hannah Carle is a forest scientist with expertise in ecophysiology and forest responses to climate change. As a postdoctoral researcher with the Cumberland Plain Research Program, she works to understand the climate change sensitivity of diverse native plants and identify ways to predict climate change sensitivity across floral diversity. To address these questions, she conducts ‘future climate’ manipulation experiments in the glasshouse and the field and supports associated PhD and undergraduate student research. Her approach emphasises incorporating broad floral diversity—many species, diverse climate origins, and functional forms—and examining the interactive effects of global change drivers, particularly drought and temperature stress, on plant function and performance.
